Technology tools: For this lesson we will use the following technology tools:
Added Value Sites: Nasa Natural Hazards, Puzzle, Pacific Disaster Center.These sites are fun and interactive for students that will further their knowledge on their natural hazard, but other groups as well.
Google Doc: each student will put their group as well as their natural hazard description and most recent event.
Twitter: students will be able to "tweet" the teacher throughout group work time to answer any questions and/or get advice from other group members.Supervised social networking between groups and individuals.
Classroom Response System: Students will play the game of Jeopardy by answering category related to their natural hazards. Individuals are able to actively participate and socially interact.
Blog: Each student will be able to comment on what they learned about their natural disaster as well as other groups. Individual members are able to participate in a group setting (active engagement).
Wiki: Each group will place their natural hazard description as well as the most current event in the table. Students will be better organized and have a reference page while creating blog or interpreting other group information.
